Studija is a new art space in Kuldīga city, located in Kaļķu Street quarter. By offering space and time it aims to support creativity, research and education in the field of contemporary art and culture. An essential focus of the new art space is a dialogue between the invited participants, local community and international networks. Studija’s main focus is the Artist in Residency program that aims to host around 20 artists and other creative folks per year. Studija is founded and run by an independent curator, art historian and researcher Maija Rudovska, who has been working in the field of contemporary art for more than 15 years.
